Dani Vitale has debunked the rumors by saying on Instagram she has never 'touched nor even SEEN a drug in my entire life.'

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato's back-up dancer and friend has denied rumours she supplied the singer with the drugs that caused her reported overdose.

The Confident singer was hospitalised last month after being found unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home following a suspected drug overdose and has since been recovering in rehab.

In an emotional essay shared on Instagram, Dani Vitale cleared up rumours circulating on social media that she provided the singer with drugs.

"I have NEVER touched nor even SEEN a drug in my entire life," the 28-year-old dancer fired. "I DO NOT DO DRUGS, nor would I ever encourage, or supply them to anyone I love."

Vitale said she was out celebrating her birthday with friends on 23 July, and woke up the next morning to a call telling her about Lovato's suspected overdose.

"My whole being was ridden with sadness, confusion, love and hopelessness," she wrote.

Once rumours began suggesting that Vitale was responsible for the troubled singer's relapse, she confessed she was "riddled with severe depression", and did not leave her house for three weeks.

"After days of countless nights not being able to sleep, or waking up in a full sweat and soaking in my own tears, I was forced to put my phone in a dresser drawer," Vitale continued. "Terrified to open a blind or to get out of bed, my house remained just as dark as my mind daily."

Vitale revealed she lost work in the aftermath of the rumours, and lost contact with friends.

"The circulation of an UNTRUE story on the internet yanked my life, my reputation, my name and everything I have worked so hard to stand for, out from underneath me. This UNTRUE narrative is damaging innocent people's lives, mine included. We are so quick to point the finger with little to ZERO facts at all," she said.

Lovato opened up about her suspected overdose after being discharged from hospital, and assured family, friends and fans that she would "keep fighting".
