The late Queen of Soul's 1985 album re-enters the chart at No. 7 with 35,000 equivalent album units.

AceShowbiz - Aretha Franklin has posthumously rocketed back into America's albums chart with her highest position in 46 years.

The Queen of Soul's 30 Greatest Hits, which was originally released in 1985, re-entered the Billboard 200 following her passing on Thursday, August 16, and it has since landed at number seven as fans flock to download and stream the singer's most popular songs.

Aretha had previously reached the same position back in 1972, with her gospel album Amazing Grace, while earlier projects had twice reached number two - first in 1967 with I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You, and again in 1968 with Aretha: Lady Soul.

30 Greatest Hits didn't actually crack the Billboard 200 until 2012, when it peaked at 117.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott enjoys a second week at number one with Astroworld, earning 205,000 equivalent sales units to hold on to the chart crown.

He fends off a charge from Nicki Minaj's Queen, which sold 185,000 equivalent units to debut at two, her fourth record to hit the top two on the Billboard 200 - more than any other female hip-hop artist.

It is also the second-largest sales week for an album by a female artist this year. Rap rival Cardi B set the 2018 record in April when her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, shifted 255,000 units.

Nicki's label mate and frequent collaborator Drake slips to three with Scorpion, ahead of rapper Trippie Redd at four with Life's a Trip, and Post Malone's beerbongs & bentleys at five.
