During her 'Reputation' tour stop in Tampa on Tuesday, August 14, the singer fought back tears as she remembered the 2017 groping trial.

AceShowbiz - One year ago, on August 14, Taylor Swift had a bittersweet moment when she won a groping trial against former radio DJ David Mueller. On Tuesday, exactly one year after her triumph at court, the singer recalled the sexual assault case while performing in Tampa, Florida.

During her performance at Raymond James Stadium as part of her "Reputation Stadium Tour", the 28-year-old star took a moment onstage to look back at the "horrible" experience. "So just looking back, this exact day a year ago I was not playing a sold-out stadium in Tampa," she began, as she sat at a piano. "I was in in a courtroom in Denver, Colorado and honestly, um, I was there for a sexual assault case. And this day a year ago a jury ruled in my favor and said that they believed me."

She continued while fighting back tears, "I guess I just think about all of the people who weren't believed, or haven't been believed or who are afraid to speak up because they don't think they will be believed. And I just want to say I'm sorry to everyone who ever wasn't believed because I don't know what turn my life would take if people hadn't believed me when I said that something happened to me."

She thanked her fans for standing by her side through the ups and downs in her life. "So I just wanted to say we have so much further to go, and I'm so grateful to you guys for being there for me for what was really a horrible part of my life," she continued. "And you know you guys have seen me go through so many ups and downs in my life just due to the public nature of the way my life is, and I just wanted to say that I'm so happy to see you and to have you and know you through the ups and the downs in my life."

She paused for a while before adding, "Sorry, I just haven't really talked about it. And I'm just not really composed at all."

Former Denver DJ David Mueller sued Taylor for $3 million, claiming he lost his job after she claimed he groped her in 2013. On August 14, 2017, the judge ruled in Taylor's favor. In Taylor's countersuit, she requested just $1.

Before the Tampa show, fans were given yellow $1 bills with Taylor's face on the front. On the back it told the story of their lawsuits and Taylor's victory. Her fans held up the bills after her emotional speech that night.
