The outspoken hip-hop mogul all of sudden went silent after the talk show host asked him if the president cared about black people.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West, who is known as an outspoken person and one of President Donald Trump's supporters, surprisingly could hold his tongue in an interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". The hip-hop mogul was talkative when he and host Jimmy Kimmel discussed Trump's action, but West later went silent after Kimmel asked him if the president cared about black people.

During the Thursday, August 8 episode of the show, the controversial rapper explained the reason why he's a supporter of the current U.S. president. "People got really mad when you're..," Kimmel cut his own words, before continuing, "Well, some people were really happy when you said you like President Trump, do you think he's a good president?"

West replied, "It's funny you know, in this world that we live in, there's two main motivating forces and I tweeted about it all the time, it's love or fear." He continued, "And you can't explain love. You know, my cousin is locked up for murder and I love him. I saw he did a bad thing but I still love him."

"It's not about policies 'cause I'm not a politician like that, but it represented overcoming fear and doing what you felt no matter what anyone said and saying you can't bully me, liberals can't bully me, news can't bully me, the hip-hop community, they can't bully me," the 41-year-old Atlanta-born rapper stated. "Because at that point, if I'm afraid to be me, I'm no longer Ye. That's what makes Ye. And I actually quite enjoy when people actually are mad at me about certain things."

"You so famously and so powerfully said, 'George [W.] Bush doesn't care about black people.' It makes me wonder what makes you think that Donald Trump does or any people at all," the 50-year-old host asked the rapper. West was clearly taken aback as he went completely silent after the question.

Kimmel finally broke the ice by suggesting, "Why don't we take a break, we'll come back. We'll be right back." As Kimmel cut the show to commercial break, West was seen smiling and the audience laughed.

After the episode aired, Trump thanked West for supporting him during his appearance on the show. Taking to his Twitter account, the president of the United States wrote, "Thank you to Kanye West and the fact that he is willing to tell the TRUTH. One new and great FACT - African American unemployment is the lowest ever recorded in the history of our Country." He added, "So honored by this. Thank you Kanye for your support. It is making a big difference!"

It was the second time Trump personally thanked West for his support. Back in April, the president thanked the "Gold Digger" hitmaker via the micro-blogging site for defending him.

"You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone," West wrote on his account. "I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought." Trump then responded to the tweet, "Thank you, Kanye, very cool!"
