AceShowbiz - Country singer Tyler Farr performed with a sprained ankle at Minnesota's WE Festival on Friday, August 03, hours after he was jumped by an overzealous security guard at his own gig.

The star reveals he had been making his way back to the stage after launching himself into the crowd at the Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth, Minnesota on Thursday night when he was tackled by a heavyset security official, who failed to recognise the musician as the celebrity he was supposed to be protecting.

"I didn't know what was going on," Tyler told Taste of Country about the incident. "I was mad as hell, but yeah, he took me out."

The artist, who was eventually released from the guard's grip, was forced to seek medical help in a hospital emergency room after the clash, but he was able to continue with his concert commitments, and returned to the stage the next day at the WE Festival.

"A sprained ankle and a big thump on the head later, and a little visit to the ER, and we're good to go," he shared.

Farr performed on day two of the three-day WE Festival, which also featured performances from Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, and Jason Aldean.
