Cypress Hill to Release First Album in Eight Years After Signing New Deal

In addition to releasing the album, the hip-hop group will embark on a world tour beginning in September.

AceShowbiz - Hip hop supergroup Cypress Hill have signed a new record deal with BMG and plan to release their first album in eight years.

The Insane in the Brain hitmakers released their eighth record, Rise Up, in 2010 and now they will be returning with Elephants On Acid on 28 September.

"We are delighted to be working with Cypress Hill," Maximilian Kolb, director, A&R recorded music BMG Germany, says. "Not only did they arguably kickstart the whole Latino hip-hop movement, interestingly they created music which has as much resonance here in Germany as it has in the U.S., influencing a new generation of artists. Eight years since their last studio album, we are very excited at the potential for this new record".

In addition to the album, Cypress Hill will tour the U.S., South and Latin America and Europe beginning in September, according to Billboard.
