According to his manager, the tattooed model would lean back against the railing while smoking cigarettes on his balcony, leading his relatives to believe the fall was not planned.

AceShowbiz - Model Rick Genest died after falling from the fourth floor balcony of his apartment building in Montreal, Canada, according to new reports.

Fans of the fashion star, aka Zombie Boy, initially feared he had committed suicide, but now his manager Karim Leduc tells TMZ that family members believe his death was an accident.

According to Leduc, the tattooed model would lean back against the railing while smoking cigarettes on his balcony, leading his relatives to believe the four-storey fall was not planned.

The manager reveals Genest did not leave a suicide note, which his family members found odd, as he loved to express himself through regular writing and his loved ones believe he would have definitely left a letter for them if he had planned to take his own life.

Rick was pronounced dead after paramedics at the scene failed to revive him.

The model, who was booked for high-profile work in magazines like GQ and Vanity Fair after landing his big break as the star of Lady Gaga's 2011 music video Born This Way, was remembered by the pop star on Thursday, August 02.

Assuming the reports of his suicide were true, she urged fans to seek help if they felt depressed enough to consider taking their own life.

"The suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy, is beyond devastating," she wrote. "We have to work harder to change the culture, bring Mental Health to the forefront and erase the stigma that we can’t talk about it. If you are suffering, call a friend or family today. We must save each other".
