Reese's character Madeline Martha Mackenzie is seen holding an ice cream cone while standing behind Meryl's Mary Louise Wright.

AceShowbiz - Reese Witherspoon and Meryl Streep's characters on HBO's "Big Little Lies" seemingly won't get along well on the series. The two actresses, who will star in the second season of the Emmy-winning series, were spotted filming an exciting scene, at least for Reese.

In a photo taken from the show's Los Angeles, California, set that circulates online, Reese's character Madeline Martha Mackenzie is seen holding an ice cream cone while standing behind Meryl's Mary Louise Wright, who dons a tan Barbour jacket, dark jeans and black shoes. With an angry expression, Madeline looks like she is about to throw the dessert at her direction.

The scene apparently also features Kathryn Newton, who plays Witherspoon's eldest daughter, Abigail. She looks shocked after her on-screen mom hurls the frozen treat.

One excited fan posts the photo and tweets, "I am praying Reese pelts Meryl with that ice cream." Reese later responds, "No need to pray," before adding that she "got her!"

Behind the scenes, it was previously reported that tension was brewing between Reese and Meryl as the former was allegedly "really unfriendly" to her co-stars. In addition, there's allegedly a power struggle between Reese, who also executive produces the show, and the 69-year-old vet actress, who just joins the cast for the sophomore season.

Reese was said acting like she was the star of the show and it caused the situation awkward with her other co-stars. "I could tell Reese thinks she wears the pants," said a so-called insider. "There's definitely a power struggle between them."

It remains to be seen whether or not the report can be trusted as Reese previously expressed her excitement to have the three-time Academy Award-winning actress starring on "Big Little Lies". "I called Nicole [Nicole Kidman] and I was like, 'Is this real life? Is this really happening?' And then I got off the phone with Nicole and I, like, hugged myself gently for a minute," she said on "Late Night with Seth Meyers". "And said, 'This is really happening. You're really working with Meryl Streep.' "

The 7-episode season 2 of "Big Little Lies" reportedly will arrive in 2019 on HBO.
