The original 'ALF' (which stands for Alien Life Form) series ran for four seasons on NBC.

AceShowbiz - Another day, another reboot. "ALF" is the latest classic TV series that is getting a reboot treatment. The 1980s sitcom will be making a huge return on TV as Warner Bros. TV is reportedly developing a reboot of it.

The reboot is allegedly in the early stages as the studio is currently searching for a scribe for the project. It remains to be seen whether the reboot will bring back any of the former cast and creators of the original series, though rumor has it that original creators Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco are expected to be attached on the project. It's reported that the reboot will focus on ALF getting back to Earth where it finds a new family.

The original "ALF" (which stands for Alien Life Form) series ran for four seasons on NBC. It followed a sarcastic alien named ALF (voiced by Fusco) from the planet Melmac who was taken in by a middle-class family after crash-landing in Southern California.

The family then took him in until he can get his spaceship fixed and helped hide him from the Alien Task Force and the family's next-door neighbors the Ochmoneks. Alf ends up considering the Tanners family, all except for the cat, who he constantly tries to eat despite everyone telling him that's not okay.

The show was cancelled in 1990. The finale concluded on a cliffhanger since the original plan was to have another season for the series. However, the cancellation didn't really affect the popularity of the titular character as it remained to be fan-favorite in the pop culture as a whole.

In addition of Fusco, the original series starred Max Wright (Willie Tanner), Anne Schedeen (Kate Tanner), Andrea Elson (Lynn Tanner), Benji Gregory (Briant Tanner), John LaMotta (Trevor Ochmonek) and Liz Sheridan (Raquel Ochmonek).
