The Duchess of Sussex's dad Thomas Markle has been sparking scandal by giving out unauthorized interviews, the latest of which saw him claiming that Meghan has cut him off completely. That particular interview leads to crisis talks at the Palace, according to Daily Mirror.
The site reports that advivers have held at least three top-level crisis meetings in order to stop Thomas to further embarass his daughter in public. "Meghan is deeply hurt by what is happening and everything is being done behind the scenes to make sure her welfare is at the top of the agenda," says a source.
"It's an increasingly desperate situation and now it's come down to three options being on the table," the source continues. The first option is having Meghan directly ask her father to "stop hurting her," while the second one is using a third party to "appeal to him to stop making such hurtful statements." The last option is "to cut him off completely in the hope he will stop."
It's not an easy decision for Meghan as she fears he would reveal the details of their private talks with the press. It's not surprising that the 36-year-old beauty is concerned considering how the retired lighting director broke royal protocol by revealing his son-in-law's views on political issues like President Donald Trump and Brexit.
Her dad mentioning Prince Harry's late mother Diana is also said to be making Meghan feel "deeply embarassed and hurt." Thomas previously said that the late Diana would have "loathed" the way he's being treated. Of the remarks, the source reveals, "This could be the final straw for Thomas. A line has been crossed."
In related news, Meghan and Prince Harry are set to have a vacation in Scotland. The pair reportedly will spend a few days at Balmoral Castle, the royal residence in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, PEOPLE reports. They will not by themselves though, as they will be joined by the Queen, who is already at the castle and won't return to London until October.
The summer holiday vacay will mark Meghan's first visit to the property following her May royal wedding to Prince Harry. During the vacation, it's expected that they will have some fun outdoor picnics and barbecues. They will likely enjoy hunting or stalking deer.
