The song has become the longest-ruling song on the chart after it spends 35 weeks atop the chart.

AceShowbiz - Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line have taken their Meant To Be mega-hit into the U.S. record books after scoring a 35th week atop Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

The song breaks a tie with Sam Hunt's Body Like a Back Road, which spent 34 weeks at number one in 2017.

As a result, Rexha and the country duo claim the record for the longest-ruling number one in the 60-year history of the countdown.

Meant To Be has spent its entire run at number one ever since December, 2017.

"I'm so honoured to be a writer and an artist on this song," FGL's Tyler Hubbard tells Billboard. "I'm thankful to just be one of the many people who put so much energy and effort into making music history. Now, it's time to get back in the studio and try to break the new record".

His bandmate Brian Kelley adds, "The power of music continues to blow our minds, and we are extremely humbled and thankful that Meant has spent the better part of a year at the top. The connection we feel with our fans through our music is extra special with this song. Bebe and her camp were a blast to work with".

Florida Georgia Line also boast the third and fifth-longest runs on the Hot Country Songs countdown with Cruise (24 weeks), and H.O.L.Y. (18 weeks).
