AceShowbiz - Hip-hop group The Roots and rapper Lil Kim both had to axe shows over the weekend after falling victim to inclement weather in the New York area.
The Roots were due to perform with Common at a concert in Detroit, Michigan on Friday night, July 27, but had to pull out of the gig after a huge storm rolled into the Big Apple.
Band leader Questlove took to Instagram to apologise to fans, and promised to make it up to ticketholders with a make-up show in late August.
"believe me Detroit I know Friday nights are valuable & y'all paid hard earned loot in this shaky uncertain economy to support us...," the drummer explained. "@common will still be there tonight. But we will make it up to you AUGUST 31st 2018. Yes we exhausted all options for travel... I know y'all mad... -please forgive us and hopefully we will see you on the 31st".
Meanwhile, Lil Kim's performance plans were also disrupted by the storm on Friday, forcing her to cancel her set with Busta Rhymes in Toronto, Canada.
"It breaks my heart that I couldn't be at the show tonight," she wrote on Twitter. "I wish I could be there tonight but due to weather circumstances every flight was delayed and then cancelled. I tried everything in my power to make it and wish I could have performed for you all.
