AceShowbiz - A new chilling adventure is about to start! Netflix's upcoming supernatural series "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" is slated to premiere on the Friday before Halloween, October 26. The date was revealed during the streaming giant's panel at the Television Critics Association press tour at Sunday, July 29.

The streaming service made the announcement in such a spooky fashion as a slew of blonde witches storming off the stage. They handed out bloody red candied apples and chanted, "Something wicked this way comes," as the lights went out. When the lights came back, the witches turned their back, revealing the release date of the "Riverdale" spin-off on the backs of their varsity jackets.

"Time for CAOS. Oct 26," the official Twitter account of the show writes, making a pun of words "chaos" and the show's title.

Based on the comic book of the same name, "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" follows adventures of Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) as she navigates her way through life as a young witch. The series is a depicted as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist", this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature--half-witch, half-mortal--while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

The series also stars Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda and Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle. They will be joined by Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina's BFF Rosalind Walker, Tati Gabrielle as her rival Prudence, Chance Perdomo as her cousin Ambrose, Bronson Pinchot as her villainous school principal George Hawthorne and Michelle Gomez as her possessed teacher Mary Wardell.

"Riverdale" showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa serves as creator and executive producer.
