The main rapper of South Korean group Spectrum passed away on Friday, July 27, his agency WYNN Entertainment has confirmed.

AceShowbiz - Kim Dong Yoon of South Korean boy group Spectrum has passed away. The main rapper of the seven-piece group died suddenly on Friday, July 27, his agency WYNN Entertainment confirmed via a statement.

"This is WYNN Entertainment. We apologize for suddenly conveying this sad news," read the statement. "Our agency's artist and Spectrum member Kim Dong Yoon left our side on July 27. His family members, Spectrum members, and all the staff at WYNN Entertainment are grieving with a heavy heart over this sudden sad news."

"We are so heartbroken and sorry to be conveying this sad news to Dong Yoon's fans, who sincerely loved and generously encouraged him," the agency added. "According to the wishes of the family of the deceased, his funeral will be held quietly. We express our condolences for his final path."

No cause of death is immediately revealed. The talented star just turned 20 on June 3.

After appearing on JTBC's survival reality show "MIXNINE" which aired from late 2017 until early 2018, Kim Dong Yoon debuted as part of Spectrum on May 10 this year. The group also consists of Minjae, Dongkyu, Jaehan, Hwarang, Villain and Eunjun.

Following the news of his sudden passing, K-pop fans have taken to Twitter to express their condolences. "Dongyoon of Spectrum and some might remember him from MixNine too passed away at such a young age. May you rest in eternal peace, young one," one wrote.

Another tweeted, "i'm in shock...dongyoon from the group spectrum that literally only just debuted and also being a part of mixnine has been reported to have passed away...i cant believe the kpop industry has lost another angel, all my best wishes are with his loved ones #RestinPeaceDongyoon."

Another posted, "Dongyoon was someone talented who had made a step towards achieving his dreams. He was a very skilled rapper and did well on mixnine. We send our condolences to his family, friends and members of spectrum. RIP angel."
