AceShowbiz - Actress Zoe Saldana got canned from her job at Burger King for handing out free meals to the poor.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" beauty's days as an employee at the fast food chain were short-lived after her boss discovered she was providing a service to homeless people.
"My first job was at Burger King. I liked working in the drive-through," she tells Us Weekly. "I was fired every Friday and rehired every Saturday because they were short on staff. I think I was very empathetic when homeless people came in so I was always giving them food and I would get caught."
Zoe has a soft spot for all types of fast food and the New Jersey native sticks to her East Coast roots when it comes to one beloved dish, citing New York City pizza as her go-to treat, but she admits her Italian husband, Marco Perego-Saldana, does not approve of her penchant for pizza.
"Everything about me is so New York, from the moment I open my mouth. Also, my love for New York pizza," she says, "I'm married to an Italian and he is aghast that I still believe that New York pizza is by far the best pizza in the world."
"I love Chinese food (too)," Zoe adds. "My go-to order is dim sum. I will eat it 24/7 (anytime) anywhere in the world. Otherwise, I love eating in a macrobiotic way. I'm boring."
Zoe balances her meals with supplements, revealing she carries vitamins in her handbag often to ensure she remembers to swallow them sometime in the day.
"I have my vitamins in my purse because I always forget to take them in the morning," she smiles. "And my American Express Cash Magnet Card because I'm always shopping."
