AceShowbiz - Hip-hop star T-Pain has axed plans to perform at the upcoming Major League Soccer All-Star Game after falling ill.

The Can't Believe It singer had been booked to belt out the U.S. National Anthem at the sporting event in Atlanta, Georgia on 1 August, but organisers have since revealed he is too sick to hit the stage.

"T-Pain is under the weather and needs to rest his vocal chords (sic)," an MLS spokesperson posted on Twitter, "so will no longer be able to perform the National Anthem at the #MLSAllStar Game...".

A replacement is expected to be named shortly.

T-Pain had only just been announced as the star performer for the Mercedes-Benz Stadium game between the MLS All-Stars and Italian team Juventus this week, begs July 23, when he shared his excitement at the event.

"I am honored to perform the National Anthem to kick off the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target," he declared in a statement at the time. "Thank you to Major League Soccer, the city of Atlanta, and all the fans".

MLS All-Star weekend is set to kick off on Saturday, July 28, with a variety of festivities leading up to the big game next week.
