AceShowbiz - Tony Award-winning "The Producers" star Gary Beach has died at the age of 70.

The Broadway star died on Tuesday, July 17 at his home in Palm Springs, California.

Beach picked up his Tony in 2001 for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his take on Roger De Bris in "The Producers". He also played the role in the 2005 film adaptation, alongside Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.

Gary also played Lumiere in the Broadway premiere of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" and Albin in the 2004 revival of "La Cage aux Folles". He received Tony nominations for both roles.
