AceShowbiz - Actor Luke Evans has joined the cast of Roland Emmerich's World War II epic "Midway".
"The Fate of the Furious" star will play Lieutenant Commander Wade McClusky in the film about the naval battle between American and Japanese soldiers in the Pacific Ocean in June, 1942.
Evans joins Woody Harrelson, who will portray Admiral Chester Nimitz, and Mandy Moore.
The film's script has been written by Wes Tooke and production is scheduled to begin in August in Hawaii and Canada. Emmerich is also producing the project, according to Variety.
This isn't the first film that has focused on the Battle of Midway - in 1976, Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, James Coburn, and Toshiro Mifune starred in "Midway".
