Keya Morgan was arrested last month after allegedly falsely claiming burglars had entered Stan's California home.

AceShowbiz - The ex-business manager for Marvel comic book icon Stan Lee has pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanour charges of reporting a false emergency.

Keya Morgan was arrested last month after allegedly falsely claiming burglars had entered Stan's California home and locked everyone out of the house during an incident in May.

Police officials investigated the complaint and determined he had fabricated the claims.

According to court papers, Morgan had called the cops on two law enforcement officials and a social worker who had stopped by to interview Lee about allegations of elder abuse.

Morgan's attorney, Alex Kessel, entered the plea on behalf of his client in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday, July 02, and after the hearing, he insisted the 42-year-old had nothing to do with the abuse accusations.

"Mr. Morgan always had Mr. Lee's best interest at heart and did everything he could to help Mr. Lee and not put him in danger and not jeopardise any type of financial situation for Mr. Lee," Kessel told reporters.

The next hearing in the case has been set for 26 July, reports The Associated Press.

Meanwhile, a temporary restraining order 95-year-old Lee was granted against his old employee is due to expire on Friday, July 06, when a follow-up hearing is scheduled to take place.
