According to a source, the blonde actress plans to move from the psychiatric ward at a hospital to a long-term facility, where a group of doctors and psychiatrists can help her.

AceShowbiz - Heather Locklear will reportedly seek long-term treatment for substance abuse and her mental health.

The former Dynasty actress was arrested on 24 June and charged with two counts of misdemeanour battery upon an officer and emergency services personnel after they responded to her home in Thousand Oaks, California to deal with a domestic disturbance.

Heather, who was allegedly intoxicated, was taken to hospital and then to jail, and was released on $20,000 (£15,000) bail on Monday, June 25.

However, according to TMZ.com, the 56-year-old was back in hospital again just hours later, after emergency services received a call reporting that someone was overdosing at her home that afternoon. Police and paramedics attended, with an ambulance taking the star from the house to a nearby medical facility.

She now plans to move from the psychiatric ward at a hospital to a long-term facility, where a group of doctors and psychiatrists can help her, according to the website.

Heather reportedly agreed to enter the long-term facility voluntarily and there is currently no plan for a conservatorship to handle her affairs.

A spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff's Office told Entertainment Tonight at the time of Heather's hospitalisation on Monday: "We did go to her house this afternoon about 3 p.m. along with fire department and ambulance personnel and when everyone arrived on scene they determined that it was a medical issue and a patient was transport (sic) from the house to a local hospital".

A source told TMZ at the time that the actress was in a stable condition and getting the necessary treatment.
