AceShowbiz - XXXTENTACION went to final resting place in a private funeral service in Florida on Thursday, June 28. The special ceremony was attended by a few of his closest friends and family. Each attendee was provided with a memento of the late rapper, who died from gunshot at the age of 20.
Attending the private ceremony was singer-songwriter Erykah Badu, who took to Instagram to share a picture of the memento from the event. "LONG LIVE XXX," she captioned the pic, before quoting the lyrics of her song "Me", "They may try to erase your face But millions spring up in your place."
XXXTENTACION's mom also shared on the photo-sharing site a picture of the memento and wrote along with it, "Goodbye my love. Until we meet again." Meanwhile, another guest recalled that his great-grandmother delivered a very touching speech during the service. According to the guest, she said, "In life, you can wait for storms to pass, or instead you can learn to dance in the rain."
Just yesterday, a public memorial service for the "Sad!" hitmaker was held at the BB&T Center, Florida. More than 8000 people attended the memorial to see the body of the rapper in the casket and say their final goodbye. Among the attendees at the service were Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert and Denzel Curry.
XXXTENTACION was leaving a motorcycle dealer in Deerfield Beach in Florida on Monday, June 18 when he was gunned down by two men. He was found without a pulse and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives later arrested 22-year-old suspect Dedrick Devonshay Williams. The investigation continues as police is reportedly looking to speak with 22-year-old Robert Allen. Robert was seen in the dealership's surveillance video around the time of the shooting.
