'Come over to the light,' the actor, who won an Emmy for his impersonation of POTUS on the show, tweets, before adding, 'And then do SNL w me.'

AceShowbiz - Alec Baldwin seemingly has an idea for the upcoming season of "Saturday Night Live". Alec, who's known for his Donald Trump impersonation on the NBC late-night comedy show, reaches out to Melania Trump on Twitter and invites FLOTUS to join him on the show.

"Dear Melania, we know what you're thinking. What you're feeling," the Emmy-winning actor tweeted on Saturday, June 23. "You are quaking w anticipation. Shuddering w a strange, newfound courage."

"Come. Come over to the light," he added. "We will welcome you as a hero in ways you never imagined possible. And then do SNL w me. Sincerely, Alec."

Alec then followed it up with a snap of himself with the president's wife. "We have a chair waiting for you in the @nbcSNL make-up room," he captioned it.

Some fans, however, don't seem to be happy with Alec's idea of having Melania on the show. "Sorry Alec, I will have to disagree with you. You should not welcome Melania. She is on the wrong side of history, and will always be as long as she is married to trump," a fan said.

The invitation arrives in the wake of Melania's controversy over her jacket. During a recent visit to a detention center at the U.S. border in Texas, FLOTUS wore a jacket that read, "I really don't care. Do U?" People thought that the outfit choice was callous since the detention center has detained children who have been separated from their parents due to President Trump's "zero tolerance" policy regarding undocumented immigrants.

The first lady's spokesperson insisted that the jacket meant nothing and she hoped that it wouldn't shift people's attention from her good will visit. Meanwhile, the president claimed that it was on purpose for the "fake news" media.
