AceShowbiz - Here's the first look at "Terminator" reboot. After years in development, the new installment of the sci-fi film franchise is finally going into production in Madrid, Spain. And now the first set photos have surfaced online, giving a look at Mackenzie Davis' character.

The Canadian actress is playing the female lead who is described as "the new face of the rebooted franchise." In the photos obtained by Just Jared, she sports short hair and has scars all over her chest and arms.

While details of the character are still kept under wraps, the photos suggest that she plays a resistance fighter like John Connor or Kyle Reese. She was previously described as a soldier-assassin from the future, which matches with her look on set.

"Deadpool" director Tim Miller is serving behind the lens and wrote the script, with James Cameron, who co-created the franchise, producing it. It also stars Gabriel Luna, Diego Boneta and Natalia Reyes.

Luna is cast as the new model of Terminator. Reyes will portray a young woman named Dani who is from a working class neighborhood and finds herself caught in the battle between humans and machines. Boneta will play Dani's brother.

Original stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are set to return to the new movie, though their parts are reportedly brief. The untitled Terminator reboot is said to be a direct sequel to "Terminator 2: Judgement Day".

The reboot is set for a November 22, 2019 release in the U.S.
