While Meghan looked stunning in the dress, some social media users dubbed the look was "inappropriate" for the regal occasion. "I do feel her choice of an off the shoulder dress was pushing it for HRH Queen Elizabeth's Birthday celebration. I have a feeling she’s going to push the limits a little too much?!" a user commented.

Another critic said, "her attire was wholly inappropriate once again." S/he also slammed Meghan for not alllegedly paying attention to the flypast, adding, "Markle didn't shut the hell up and kept blathering on with Camilla right behind the queen! She hardly hardly looked up at the flypast. And yes, her attire was wholly inappropriate once again."

However, some people quickly came to her defense. "Oh the humanity!! The crown is experiencing such unrest with two barely visible shoulders. Stop it!!" a user tweeted. Meawhile, another user applauded, "Meghan Markle broke protocol by wearing an off the shoulder dress. Keep doing you boo!"
Her dress controversy aside, Meghan seemingly was nervous during the ceremony. According to a lip-reading expert, Meghan told Prince Harry while they joined other royal family members on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
The pair were caught on camera glancing over to each other at the same time with Meghan later allegedly told him, "Nervous," with a smile. Harry later was said to be responding, "Yes. When you get into it, I'll tell you more later." He reportedly added, "Then there's the fly-past and then we all look up to the sky."
Despite allegedly being nervous, Meghan appeared to fit in perfectly. She was seen chatting with Duchess of Cornwall Camilla and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. She was also spotted having a friendly conversation with father-in-law Prince Charles.
