The 'This Is Us' star shares that her ex-boyfriend's claims are 'utterly tacky, not even true.'

AceShowbiz - Mandy Moore was "hurt" after her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama suggested he had taken her virginity, insisting it was a big "fib".

The This Is Us star dated Valderrama from 2000 to 2002, and years after they broke up, the That 70's Show actor told U.S. shock jock Howard Stern "the sex with Mandy was good, but it wasn't like warm apple pie".

Moore subsequently responded to Wilmer's comments, telling Elle magazine they were "utterly tacky, not even true, and it hurt my feelings because I like him".

The actress/singer, now 34, was forced to revisit the old remarks on Wednesday, June 06, as she sat down for a chat with Stern, and Mandy was adamant Wilmer was not her first sexual partner.

"I dated him when I was 16 and 17...," she said. "I love him and I still love him and he's a very good friend, and that's why I was so shocked by it. Because not only was it a fib, but it was so unlike him - it was so uncharacteristic."

Mandy went on to reveal she confronted Wilmer about the candid interview, and he initially tried to back peddle on his comments.

"I remember in the moment, he tried to explain it away, that sort of he did get caught up and he maybe insinuated more than actually like, outright said it," she continued. "I was like, 'No, you outright said it'. I was like, 'Why would you ever talk about that to anybody? And lie about it...?'"

However, the actors eventually smoothed over their dispute and have stayed friends.

"We've moved past it now," she said. "I mean, this was 2005. We're not that close (now), but we're friendly."

Mandy went on to wed rocker Ryan Adams in 2009. They finalised their divorce in 2016 and she is now engaged to musician Taylor Goldsmith.
