AceShowbiz - Both audience and viewers were treated to a number of show-stopping performances at the 2018 CMT Music Awards, which took place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on June 6. Among the notable performers that night was Kelly Clarkson, who brought rock and roll to the country event.

Instead of singing her own music, the "American Idol" alum performed a rendition of The Guess Who's 1969 classic, "American Woman". It doesn't mean that she would not rock her performance though, as people were mesmerized by her impressive performance. Kelly added a splash of gospel and a little country twang to the classic rock while showcasing her powerful vocals near the end of the song.

Another pop star who hit the stage at the award-giving show that night was Backstreet Boys. While Kelly brought rock and roll to the stage, the five-piece group brought pop as they debuted live performance of new track "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". They performed the song while dancing with mic stands.

The night's biggest winner, Blake Shelton, was one of the opening performers. He turned the rooftop of his new Ole Red Nightclub into a stage when he belted out "Turnin' Me On". Audience members could be seen dancing along as he sang the track, which is included on his album "Texoma Shore".

Even though it wasn't as dramatic as her performance at the 2018 ACM Awards, Carrie Underwood still received a standing ovation when she performed her latest song "Cry Pretty". The songstress took the stage in a plunging black bodysuit and sported fake glitter tears underneath her eyes. This marked her second performance since her gruesome accident last year.

Meanwhile, Kelsea Ballerini delivered a rendition of her latest single "I Hate Love Songs". Donning a denim button-down shirt, the blonde singer showcased her clear vocals as she strummed her acoustic guitar. "I hate love songs, but CMT I really love you," she said after finishing her performance.

Other musicians who took the stage that night included Jason Aldean, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line and Little Big Town.
