Many celebrities, including 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' director Rian Johnson, support Kelly after she was harassed with abusive messages by social media users.

AceShowbiz - Olivia Munn has reached out to Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Kelly Marie Tran after the actress cleared her Instagram account over harassment.

Kelly played Rose Tico in the movie, but her role irked some male fans, who have inundated her social media pages with abusive messages.

Earlier this week (end June 10), the 29-year-old deleted all her Instagram posts, a decision she reportedly took after growing weary of the cruel posts on her profile.

Taking to her Instagram Story account on Wednesday, June 06, Olivia wrote: "As an Asian American actress myself, I am SO PROUD of Kelly Marie Tran for forging a path in Hollywood, which is extremely hard because it's not a path that already exists for us. Not only did she find a way, but she found it all the way to STAR WARS!"

"She is ridiculously talented, brave and gorgeous. I think it's interesting how her character Rose Tico in #TheLastJedi allowed us to see how widespread the First Order's venom has become, reaching out to the farthest points of the galaxy. And now today, Kelly is showing us how poisonous people can corrode so many things right here on Earth."

"I'm proud of Kelly for taking a stand and saying enough to that bulls**t. But I hope that if she ever wants to come back to social media, she does, because she deserves to be here and we need more people like her putting good energy out in the world."

Just remember girl, DON’T TRIP OVER THE HATERS, WALK OVER THEM. 🙌💛💫👊✨

The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has also slammed those who have targeted Kelly, calling them "manbabies" and adding: "Done with this disingenuous bulls**t. You know the difference between not liking a movie and hatefully harassing a woman so bad she has to get off social media. And you know which of those two we're talking about here."

Actor Mark Hamill backed Rian's comments, as did Josh Gad, Elijah Wood, Kumail Nanjiani, and Cher, who tweeted: "Seriously, fix your f**king life if you do s**t like this. This isn't fandom, its not loving a thing (sic). It's harassment. It's abusive behaviour done by sexist, racist man babies."
