The singer-songwriter hosted Sunday's episode of 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen', where he poked fun at his own love life.

AceShowbiz - John Mayer has divulged that Jennifer Lawrence has no interest in dating him due to his "track record".

The singer-songwriter hosted "Watch What Happens Live" on Sunday night (June 03) to help celebrate host Andy Cohen's 50th birthday.

But during an after-show interview, Mayer changed up the topics of conversation in order to poke fun at his romantic life.

"You have a lot of friends, who without you, would want nothing to do with me and I find that exciting," he told Cohen. "You know what I mean? You are friends with Jennifer Lawrence who just doesn't want anything to do with me. Look at me, I don't have the world's greatest track record when it comes to celebrity relationships."

Previously, Mayer has been linked to a string of A-list stars including, Jessica Simpson, Minka Kelly, Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. He went to state that he likes seeing Cohen's pals "humour" him whilst maintaining a "fair distance".

"Because if you are someone who cares about your image and you take this job because it looks right, you don't take that job. Dating John Mayer at this point is conceptually just sort of a no-no," the 40-year-old smiled. "So, it's really fun to get to hang out with your friends, A-list star friends, who otherwise would be highly uncomfortable sitting around me."

Cohen then explained that he tries to convey Mayer in a "new light".

However, Mayer then jokingly responded: "Thank you, slowly but surely I'm setting myself up for another disastrous celebrity relationship."

During the interview, Mayer also approached the subject of whether or not people think he and openly gay Cohen are in a "secret relationship".

And Cohen was surprised to hear the audience's positive response.

"Oh, all my team does?" the TV host laughed. "That's hilarious!"
