Executives at the Canadian network have signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television for a 13-episode run of the drama.

AceShowbiz - Gabrielle Union's Bad Boys spin-off has been rescued by Bell Media bosses weeks after NBC chiefs turned down the police series.

Executives at the Canadian broadcaster have struck a deal with Sony Pictures Television for a 13-episode run of the drama, which will also feature new mum Jessica Alba.

The series, which will run on one of Bell Media's specialty entertainment channels, gives Union the chance to reprise her Syd Burnett character from Bad Boys II.

In LA's Finest, she transfers from Miami to Los Angeles to work as an LAPD detective, partnered by a single mum cop, played by Alba.

Alba and Union will executive produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman, among others.
