AceShowbiz - It was such an unfortunate for everyone that "Roseanne" was canned by ABC following Roseanne Barr's controversial tweets about Valerie Jarrett. It appears that some key players of the rebooted show, including executive producer Tom Werner, co-star and EP Sara Gilbert, and showrunner/EP Bruce Helford, are having discussion about options for keeping the ensemble together in some form, but this time, without Barr.
According to a source, Gilbert, Werner and Helford will be having a sit down with ABC execs as soon as Friday, June 1 to talk about possible options for the future of "Roseanne". Should they continue the sitcom, Barr would still benefit financially because "Roseanne" was created by the actress and Matt Williams, and that would not be a good idea to start if they are not planning to involve Barr in the new project. Chances are, they are going to design a whole new series with "Roseanne" cast and crew.
However, there hasn't been any decision made. In addition, it is said that various options are still being discussed. Werner, Gilbert and Helford are also reportedly not convinced that the network will be willing to take a gamble on a show without its main star. However, the possibility is still open considering that ABC renewed "Roseanne" for a second season back in March which means the producers are still on teh hook for paying those salaries.
Meanwhile, several celebrities take to Twitter to suggest new reboots to fill the void that "Roseanne" left on the network. "NOT TO BE OPPORTUNISTIC, BUT IF YOU'RE ITCHING TO FILL THAT #ROSEANNE SLOT WITH ANOTHER FORMER @ABCNetwork SHOW...," Bryan Fuller writes alongside a photo of his cult hit "Pushing Daisies".

As for Kevin Biegel, he said that he'd be willing to hire the entire crew of "Roseanne" if the network would give a second life to his series "Enlisted", which originally aired on FOX. "Dear Channing Dungey, Since there's going to be a hole in your schedule next year can we bring back Enlisted? @MikeRoyce and me and the gang can put together a season very quickly! Also we can just hire the entire crew of that show that just went away! Love, Me," he tweeted.
