Clare Waight Keller, who was tapped to design the Duchess of Sussex's wedding dress, reveals that the embroiderers of the 16-ft. long veil washed their hands every 30 minutes.

AceShowbiz - People indeed have to put so much work for a masterpiece. Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy had five months to prepare Meghan Markle's stunning wedding dress before she walked the aisle with British prince Harry on May 19.

Talking to Paris Match, the designer opened up about the preparation of the dress. "We were very quickly agreed on the perfect dress," said Waight Keller. "I wanted a modern and fresh silhouette while respecting her style."

The artistic designer at the famous fashion brand revealed that the two first met back in January. "You're entering history at the same time as the Duchess of Sussex," she said. "It is an immense honor to have worked closely with Meghan and to have lived by her side all these special moments. Prince Harry came to me and said, 'Oh my God. Thank you. She is absolutely magnificent.' I am very proud. It's a fairy tale. A dream come true."

The 47-year-old designer added that the key design point was Meghan's 16-ft. long veil. She said that they decided to pay homage to all 53 Commonwealth countries by including flowers from each, which screamed a big, complicated task to almost everyone. "To keep the veil immaculate until the ceremony, the embroiderers washed their hands every 30 minutes," Waight Keller shared. "The silk crepe for the dress is double, which gives the silhouette its simplicity and its holding, while remaining supple."

In related news, Meghan is seemingly adjusting just fine with her new life in London, reportedly thanks to Amal Clooney. The wife of George Clooney is said to be helping the former "Suits" actress to get used to London as they "have known each other for a while." According to People, the human rights lawyer and the newly-inducted Duchess of Sussex first met through a mutual friend and later got closer after the latter moved to the U.K. last fall.

"Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life," an insider said. "It was a very natural friendship from day one."
