AceShowbiz - Designer Emilia Wickstead has fired back at reports suggesting the Givenchy gown Meghan, Duchess of Sussex wore for the royal wedding was a copy of one of her creations.
The British dressmaker was linked to Daily Mail gossip, which hinted she thought Meghan's dress was "identical" to an item from her own line, but she has responded with a statement dismissing the drama.
"I am extremely saddened by commentary that has appeared in the press and online over the past few days," she wrote on Instagram on Sunday, May 27. "Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day and I have the utmost admiration and respect for her.
"I do not think that her wedding dress was a copy of any of our designs. I have the greatest respect for Clare Waight Keller and the House of Givenchy - a huge inspiration to me."
The royal bride has not spoken about the dress drama.
But Meghan's dress has come under fire from Katy Perry, who felt the former Suits actress' gown could have been more tailored to her figure.
"I would have done one more fitting," she told Entertainment Tonight shortly after the wedding on 19 May.
