'At the studio while I gaze into ur beautiful eyes as u write ur verse,' the 'Chun-Li' femcee writes on Twitter, adding that it will be their first date.

AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj has invited Eminem to join her in the recording studio for their "first date" after receiving a special shout out during his Boston Calling festival set.

The old friends sparked rumours of a secret romance last week after Nicki made references to Eminem in her verse on fellow rapper YG's new single Big Bank, on which she is featured alongside Big Sean and 2 Chainz.

"Told 'em I met Slim Shady, bagged a Em/Once he go black, he'll be back again," she spits on the track, which was released on Friday, May 25.

The lyrics sent her fans into a frenzy, with one Instagram follower asking her outright, "You dating Eminem???".

"YES," replied Nicki, who appeared to catch Eminem's attention as he responded, "Girl you know it's true".

Playing up the dating speculation, the busty beauty remarked, "Babe, I thought we were gonna keep it (their relationship) on the low (a secret) til the wedding. Yikes. I'll talk to you when I get home."

On Sunday, May 27, Eminem decided to toy with fans further as he addressed the gossip during his headlining set at Massachusetts' Boston Calling event.

"I wanna take this time right now to give a shout to my bae (baby) Nicki Minaj," he declared, as the crowd cheered. "Sweetheart, I'll be home tonight, we'll figure this s**t out, how we're gonna deal with this publicly."

The Stan hitmaker then made it clear the dating rumours were just that, as much as he wishes they were true.

"Yo, Boston, how many people in here tonight want me to date Nicki Minaj...?," he asked the audience, as he quipped, "Godd**n it, me too!"

The stunt had Nicki bowled over with laughter, and she responded to the shout out via Twitter shortly after his performance.

"LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (laughing my f**king a** off)," she wrote beside a link to video footage of Eminem's set. "The fact that he's silly & a goof just like me. Love him so much."

She then used the opportunity to propose a new collaboration for her upcoming album, which she recently delayed for two months until August.

"Em we need you on the #Queen album," Nicki added, as she joked, "That's where our 1st date will be; at the studio while I gaze into ur beautiful eyes as u write ur verse (sic)."

The Detroit, Michigan native, who previously teamed up with Nicki on her 2010 song Roman's Revenge, has yet to respond to the request.
