'These are all projects we want to do, it's just about finding time,' the the busy mom-of-two explains about her directorial plan.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez is hoping to jump on Hollywood's female director bandwagon and get behind the camera.

The actress and singer has found success as a TV mogul and producer, but has yet to call the shots on a movie.

However, that might change soon: "They're (studio executives) much more open to women directors," J.Lo tells The Hollywood Reporter. "They're begging for them. I'll probably wind up directing sooner rather than later. Maybe a movie musical."

Talking of which, Jennifer has updated the outlet on her "Bye Bye Birdie Live!" TV project after delaying the project twice, revealing that might not happen now.

She is still attached to produce and star in the ambitious project, which was to air as it's filmed, but she's too busy to lock it down.

"These are all projects we want to do, it's just about finding time," the busy mum-of-two explains. "I would have loved to have done (TV drama) Shades (of Blue) for a few more years, but I just can't. The Vegas residency, which I've done for three years, wants another year out of me, but I need a year off...

"I've been working nonstop since January 1st. Nonstop! It's amazing and I'm grateful, but sometimes things like Bye Bye Birdie go."

And she admits she wants to spend more time with her twins and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.

"I have two beautiful kids, this amazing boyfriend with his own two kids, and we're just trying to find time."

Lopez's TV drama "Shades of Blue" ends this summer after three seasons.
