The 'Hollaback Girl' hitmaker is preparing to launch her 'Gwen Stefani - Just A Girl' shows at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino next month.

AceShowbiz - Gwen Stefani will have more than a little in common with Jennifer Lopez when she kicks off her new Las Vegas residency - they'll be sharing the same costume designers.

The Hollaback Girl hitmaker is preparing to launch her Gwen Stefani - Just A Girl shows at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino next month, and she will be dressed in outfits by top design team Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the same duo behind J.Lo's stunning stage pieces.

Although Gwen is excited to dive into her full back catalogue for the gigs, coming up with ideas for her various live looks is partly why the No Doubt frontwoman signed on.

"I've really tried to put together a show that has a nostalgic feeling," she shared with journalist Allison Kugel. "The show is full of hit songs that are recognisable and take you back to that time period in your life."

"And then of course the real reason for doing Vegas is the costumes. I'm working with Rob (and) Mariel who I've been working with now for I don't know how many years now, but they are just incredible. They did Jennifer's show; they've worked with Jennifer for years. They really get me. I think there's going to be about five costume changes with little things in between. That's a lot for me, considering with No Doubt I never did any."

"Now I'm working with designers to see what they come up with," she continued. "There are different chapters as far as what I want to look like, and I basically have it all worked out. Now it's just putting it all together."

Gwen is no stranger to Rob and Mariel, known as R and M, having recruited the pair in 2016 for her This Is What the Truth Feels Like Tour, and for her Misery music video, but, as has become tradition, the singer will be completing her stage looks herself - by doing her own cosmetics, including her signature red lip.

"My makeup is huge for me," she said. "I have this song called War Paint. It's kind of like putting it on and getting ready, there's a kind of meditation in the preparation. Makeup is art, and it's like getting into character when I put it on. I've always done my own makeup for shows."

Gwen will initially be sharing the Zappos Theatre stage at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino with Jennifer, who will end her All I Have residency shows this September.
