Adam Rippon, Josh Norman and Tonya Harding got two more dances to prove that they deserved the champion title.

AceShowbiz - The shortened season of "Dancing with the Stars: Athletes" reached its end on Monday night, May 21, with the winner being crowned in the finale. Adam Rippon, Josh Norman and Tonya Harding were the remaining contestants left in the competition, but by the end of the night only one walked away with the Mirror Ball Trophy.

The live show featured the contestants and their respective partner performing two dances each. Tonya and her partner Sasha Farber first danced a Viennese waltz. Bruno Tonioli commented, "You dance as if a weight has been lifted from your heart." Len Goodman added that she performed with "elegance and sophistication," but Carrie Ann Inaba noticed that the former Olympic figure skater was "a little nervous tonight." Tonya earned 26 out of 30 points.

Up next was Josh who danced a foxtrot with Sharna Burgess. "Dashing, debonair, self-assured," Bruno gushed, adding, "You've come so far. It's a shame this season is so short." Len said, "You've had an ease and elegance about your dancing," but the three judges noticed there was a slight misstep. Josh earned 27 points.

Adam and Jenna Johnson danced a jazz for the third and last dance in the first part. Len called it fantastic and Bruno said it was "exquisitely theatrical ... Your timing and partner work was flawless." It was a perfect dance that earned a perfect score of 30.

In the next round, all pairs danced a freestyle. Tonya and Sasha danced to "I Will Survive" while the choreography involved lots of cartwheels for the ex-skater. Carrie Ann ran over to hug Tonya after the routine as she called it the "most fun" freestyle she's ever seen. They earned 30 points for a total of 56.

Josh and Sharna's freestyle also earned a perfect score. At the end of the performance, he was drenched in fake rain. Carrie-Ann praised Sharna's choreography and remarked, "I saw a champion." Len added, "There's no way you're the underdog in this final ... This was just great. I loved the drama of it, the power, the lifts were brilliant." The NFL cornerback's total score of the night was 57.

Adam and Jenna closed it out with a unique freestyle that included the frontrunner rocking a bowl-cut wig. Carrie Ann said, "Your style was incredible. It was brave, it was certainly a choice, but I feel like I was missing something." The pair got additional 28 points, bringing their total score of the night to 58.

With that score and viewers' vote, Adam and Jenna managed to win the season. It's no surprise since Adam had shown consistent performances and a lot of improvement within only four weeks of the competition.
