The Chainsmokers and Halsey remind everyone to pay attention to loved ones dealing with mental health issues, before presenting the Top Hot 100 Song Award.

AceShowbiz - The Chainsmokers and Halsey honoured tragic DJ Avicii at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, May 20, urging fans to pay attention to loved ones dealing with mental health issues.

The hitmaker, real name Tim Bergling, died unexpectedly last month following a battle with various mental health struggles, and he was in the hearts of his friends and peers.

Before handing out the Top Hot 100 Song to Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber's Despacito at the ceremony in Las Vegas, Chainsmokers star Andrew Taggart said, "His passing was a great loss for the music world and for us. He was an artist who inspired so many in so many ways and, simply put, he meant so much to us and everyone in the EDM (electronic dance music) community."

Halsey added, "Everyone who worked with him will agree that he was such a joy and it makes this tragedy all the more painful. It's a reminder to all of us to be there and to support and love all of our friends and family members who may be struggling with mental health issues."

Minutes later, Taggart dedicated his Top Dance/Electronic Artist award to Avicii, stating, "Everyone that was nominated for this award was massively influenced by him... He inspired all of us (and) influenced our music.

"I hope you've found peace and we love you."
