Thomas Markle gushes about his 'beautiful' daughter after watching the former 'Suits' star's wedding to Prince Harry from the hospital.

AceShowbiz - Thomas Markle watched his "beautiful" daughter Meghan Markle wed Prince Harry from his hospital bed.

The 73-year-old was forced to pull out of the ceremony at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England on Saturday, May 19 following major heart surgery.

And Thomas, who was unable to walk his daughter down the aisle due to his ill health, told TMZ reporters that he watched the incredible royal ceremony from his hospital bed.

"My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy," he gushed. "I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness."

He also said that he was "emotional and joyful" while viewing the ceremony.

Meghan and Prince Harry, who were given the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex by Queen Elizabeth II following their nuptials, tied the knot in a modern ceremony which featured a gospel choir and a rousing sermon from U.S. Bishop Michael Curry.

Thomas had suffered a heart attack on May 8 and returned to hospital earlier this week after experiencing chest pains, causing him to undergo an operation.

After the procedure, he told TMZ that he believed doctors had implanted three stents.

Meghan's mother Doria Ragland was seen as the favourite to replace Thomas to walk their daughter down the aisle, but it was announced by Kensington Palace officials on Friday that Harry's father Prince Charles, had been given the honour.

"Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health," the 36-year-old said in a statement. "I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day on Saturday."
