Social media users previously slammed the 'Hills' alum for putting her young three children on diet.

AceShowbiz - Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari couldn't care less about the parenting criticism she's received after sharing her family's health-conscious recipes in her new cookbook. The former "The Hills" regular, who is married to American footballer Jay Cutler, launched True Roots, a collection of her favourite clean-eating dishes, last month, revealing she typically cooks meals that are free of gluten, dairy, and refined sugar.

However, her approach to family cooking has led many social media users to question the diet she appears to have put her three children on, insisting it's not ideal for developing youngsters.

Kristin has since hit back at her detractors, insisting they know nothing about how she parents her sons Camden Jack, five, and Jaxon, four, and two-year-old daughter Saylor James.

"How I eat, I cook at home, and that's what they eat. But we go out to breakfast every weekend," she tells PEOPLE. "They get donuts every weekend. It's not like they're on some stupid diet. They're kids."

And the busy mother-of-three has urged haters to save their energy, because she pays no attention to the critical comments she regularly receives online.

"Getting backlash about anything I'm doing when it comes to parenting, I really don't give a s**t about because I'm so confident at what I'm doing as a mum that I don't care," the defiant star adds.

Kristin will be putting her skills as a mother on full display when her new family reality show, "Very Cavallari", launches this summer, and although she is no stranger to TV, the 31-year-old admits she was initially apprehensive about introducing cameras back into her life.

"It's been almost eight years since I was in front of the camera like this," she shares. "I was really nervous, especially the first few days filming. It was a little bit of an adjustment period there."

"Very Cavallari" premieres on America's E! network in July.
