Even though the Fifth Harmony member is scared to write her own songs, a friend named Khaled pushes her 'out of my comfort zone' and makes her do it.

AceShowbiz - Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui had never written a song before this year, because she was afraid of looking stupid in the studio. The singer and her bandmates Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke, and Dinah Jane Hansen took to the stage one last time for the foreseeable future at the Hard Rock Live at The Event Center in Hollywood, Florida, on Friday, May 11, and later posted emotional messages on social media - and now Lauren in branching out as a solo artist.
But, in a candid series of tweets on Monday morning, May 14, she confessed she put off writing her own tracks, because she didn't want to fail as a songwriter."Fun fact: I actually only started writing actual songs this year," Jauregui wrote. "I had only written two songs in my life completely that I thought were ok and I was too scared of failure to try until my world shifted earlier this year".

That "shift" came when she and her bandmates announced plans for an indefinite hiatus in March. She noted, "The rest of the songs you'll hear (on her first solo album) I've actually written within the past 3 weeks/month. Literally in the studio every day just opening the floodgates of all the s**t I never let myself say".
"I was like 'nonononooooo I don't wanna be bad at thissssss it's literally what I love the mossssstttt,' " Jauregui added, revealing a producer "friend" called Khaled ("not the DJ") pushed her "out of my comfort zone and made me do it anyway."
