Perrette adds that 'there is 'a very rich, very powerful publicity machine' keeping me silent and 'feeding FALSE stories about me.'

AceShowbiz - Pauley Perette left fans devastated following her final episode on "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" aired on May 8. Now, the actress, who starred as beloved forensic scientist Abby Sciuto for 15 seasons, takes to Twitter to seemingly explain that she left the CBS show due to "multiple physical assaults."

Perrette addresses false reports of her in a series of tweets, urging fans to "tell someone" if they find themselves in an unsafe situation. "I refused to go low, that's why I've never told publicly what happened," the 49-year-old actress says. "But there are tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies about me. If you believe them? Please leave me alone. You clearly don't know me. (Sorry guys, had to be said)."

While she doesn't specifically detail what she's referring to, she continues tweeting, "Maybe I'm wrong for not 'spilling the beans' Telling the story, THE TRUTH. I feel I have to protect my crew, jobs and so many people. But at what cost? I.don't know. Just know, I'm trying to do the right thing, but maybe silence isn't the right thing about crime. I'm... Just... ?"

Perrette adds that "there is a 'machine' keeping me silent and feeding FALSE stories about me." She goes on tweeting, "A very rich, very powerful publicity 'machine'. No morals, no obligation to truth, and I'm just left here, reading the lies, trying to protect my crew. Trying to remain calm. He did it."

"I've been supporting ant-bullying programs forever. But now I KNOW because it was ME! If it's school or work, that you're required to go to? It's horrifying. I left. Multiple Physical Assaults. I REALLY get it now. Stay safe. Nothing is worth your safety. Tell someone," she concludes.

A rep for "NCIS" hasn't commented on the matter.

Following her exit from the series, Perrette shared that she was "so worried about you guys for Tuesdays episode of the #GoodbyeAbby." She added, "It's sad, But I hope hope hope you will all watch. I Want the world to watch. I did my best work for you. And TONS of flashbacks. Everyone is there. Love you! Get everyone to watch please."

The actress revealed in an interview that she would be taking some time to relax before continuing her career. "I have been in either pajamas or a bathing suit for almost a month," she joked.
