In addition to 'Marvel's Inhumans', ABC has pulled the plug on several other shows including 'Deception', 'Alex, Inc.' and 'The Crossing'.

AceShowbiz - The Inhumans won't be returning next fall. ABC has officially canceled "Marvel's Inhumans" after 1 season.

Prior to this, the Marvel series was reportedly on the chopping block on the network. The cancellation is hardly a surprise move since the series received backlash from fans due to its lackluster CGI effect. However, some fans appeared to wish for more story of the Inhumans family, petitioning for a second renewal.

During its first season, "Marvel's Inhumans" averaged a 1.2 rating in the key demo and garnered just 4 million total viewers. ABC head Channing Dungey admitted at the TCA winter press tour that the network was disappointed with the show's performance.

With "Marvel's Inhumans" being canceled, it leaves "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." as the only Marvel-related series on the network. Things don't look good as well for the show as it is currently on the bubble while waiting for a sixth season renewal.

"We'll never end something without the potential for more story," showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen previously said. "That's how we've ended every season, because whenever we've come to the end of all the seasons past, we go into that mostly not knowing until the very last minute, so we're basically doing the same thing to close out season 5. It can fit well as a possible series finale, and it can fit well as just another season's end."

In addition to "Marvel's Inhumans", ABC has pulled the plug on several other shows. Among series which won't return for another season are "Deception", "Alex, Inc.", "The Crossing", "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World", "Ten Days in the Valley" and "The Mayor".

Starring Jack Cutmore-Scott, "Deception" a crime procedural about a magician. It has only aired its nine episodes into its freshman run. Meanwhile, "Alex, Inc." is a sitcom about a startup that’s also been on for only nine episodes.

Despite the critical acclaim, "The Crossing", an allegorical sci-fi drama series, won't be returning for another season. It's only aired six episodes. Prior to its finale in March, "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World", is canceled after airing 16 episodes. Meanwhile, "The Mayor", a well-reviewed comedy starring Brandon Michael Hall, aired 13 episodes before it was yanked off from the schedule back in January.
