AceShowbiz - Pearl Jam star Mike McCready and KT Tunstall have teamed up to re-record the late Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" as an anthem for protesters and activists.
The duo released the cover they recorded with Thunderpussy drummer Leah Julius on Wednesday, May 9, along with a video featuring footage and images from various protests for positive change around the world, which fans were asked to supply.
The video also features singer/songwriter Tunstall and McCready recording in the studio.
It begins with an onscreen message, in which Tunstall and McCready state they hope the song will become "a loud shout of support to all the people all over the world marching, protesting and standing up for justice and equality".
Proceeds from the track will benefit Pearl Jam's Vitalogy Foundation.
