AceShowbiz - Richard Gere and his new wife Alejandra Silva reportedly celebrated their recent wedding at a party over the weekend, May 5 and 6. The 68-year-old and his bride secretly tied the knot in a small civil ceremony last month and on Saturday, April 5 they celebrated with friends and family at the actor's estate in Pound Ridge, New York.
According to PEOPLE magazine, composer Bette Sussman performed at the party and Buddhists Richard and Alejandra invited several Tibetan monks to the celebration. Gere has been following the religion for several years, while Silva converted in 2013.
"I was born Catholic, but converted to Buddhism two years ago," Silva told Spain's ABC newspaper in 2015. "I think it was already inside of me. I believe in reincarnation so that's why I think I was Buddhist before realising it".
Meanwhile, Alejandra shared pictures of the party set up, writing on Instagram: "And the the day has come... so very excited!!".
Actress Saundra Santiago also shared pictures from the celebration on the social media site, adding: "So my friend married this beautiful soulful & wonderful woman tonight! #Alejandragere #spanishbeauty #greatweddings #love".

This is the second marriage for Silva, who split from her first husband Govind Friedland in 2014. She also has a son - five-year-old Albert. She and Gere went public with their romance in June, 2015 and became engaged in November (17).
