AceShowbiz - Actor Hafthor Julius Bjornsson has been named the World's Strongest Man. The "Game of Thrones" star took home the trophy at the annual World's Strongest Man competition in the Philippines on Saturday, May 5.

"THE WORLD'S STRONGEST MAN 2018!" the Icelandic actor wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of himself holding the gold trophy. "Want to thank all of my family, friends and fans for supporting me along the way."

This is the first time Bjornsson has won the top competition after previously ranking high in the Arnold Strongman Classic and Europe's Strongest Man.
