AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj's highly-anticipated new album finally has an official release date. During the red carpet portion at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday, May 7, the female emcee announced that her upcoming project called "Queen" would arrive on June 15.

Escorted by security, Nicki was walking on the red carpet when reporters came up to her and asked why it was such a big night for her. Donning a red-and-black Oscar De La Renta gown and a headpiece that was dripping in red diamonds, she answered, "It's a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming June 15 and it's called 'Queen', and I can't wait."

"Queen" will be a follow-up to her third studio album "The Pinkprint", which was released on December 15, 2014. The new album is expected to feature the newly-released singles "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz". Nicki also recently debuted music videos for the tracks. Both visuals found Nicki rocking a series of bizarre outfits, including diamond-embroidered lingerie and a Marie Antoinette-styled gown.

Speaking to Zane Lowe of Beats 1, Nicki said that the new album would be her best yet. "This is the best album I've ever created in my life," she said. "I needed to focus and I just didn't know, you know, I wanted to make sure I was writing something that was meaningful to me and that would captivate my audience. But most importantly, I wanted to have fun again. I didn't want to see anything."

Besides prepping her solo album, Nicki has teamed up with fellow musicians in recent month, including Young Thug, Quavo and Migos. Most recently, she was featured on Post Malone's "Ball for Me" off his record-breaking album "Beerbongs & Bentleys".
