The lucky couple was surprised when the 'Ghostbusters' star hit a special golf ball which they brought for the gender reveal.

AceShowbiz - Bill Murray helped a lucky couple reveal the sex of their baby during a golf tournament. The 67-year-old actor was taking part in his annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack Golf Tournament in St. Augustine, Florida, last month, when he was asked to do the honours for Jacqueline and Michael Davis.

In a video shared on Friday, May 4, by the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Murray is seen taking a swing at a golf ball, which immediately exploded with blue powder when he hit it. Cheers and screams of "It's a Boy!" erupted from the crowd, and the expectant couple was also spotted in the background, kissing and embracing each other.

"Thank you. Thank you so much," Jacqueline said to the "Ghostbusters" star in the video, as he congratulated the couple. "Do we have to name him Bill now?" Michael teases. "Here it is folks," joked Murray to the crowd, showing off his golf club. "It's a boy".

According to the newspaper, the couple attended the charity tournament and brought along the special golf ball. "My husband was in one of the foursomes (in the tournament)," Jacqueline told the Daytona Beach News-Journal. "While we were there, we thought we would have my husband hit the ball."

The couple then ran into John Resig, president and co-owner of website theChive, who said he would do the gender reveal. However, Resig had actually secretly asked Murray to hit the ball to surprise Jacqueline and Michael.

"But when we got to the green, we were surprised by Bill Murray standing there," the expectant mother explained. "He said it was his first gender reveal. I was very happy, very excited."

The lucky couple now plans to frame the golf club Murray used and kindly donated.
