Of course the happy moment still lingered on the next day. On Friday, Cheryl posted on Instagram Stories her "first breakfast" with her new fiance. "First Breakfast with my Fiance," she wrote, showing some bacon, scrambled egg, hashbrowns and toast that they enjoyed that morning.

Cheryl and Matthew first met in 2006 through Matthew's brother, actor Joey Lawrence, who was a contestant in the third season of "DWTS". The couple started dating in February 2007. They broke up after a year of relationship in February 2008, but later reunited in February 2017.

In September last year, Cheryl opened up to PEOPLE about how she regretted their split. "When we first dated, we were both young and immature, and I was so new to this world," she shared. "Now we are both adults and feel balanced."

She went on praising Matthew, "He's such a great guy. He's so normal, considering we're in this crazy business." She added, "It's so nice to be able to come home to him and turn Netflix on and order Postmates. He's someone I definitely do see spending the rest of my life with."
