The 'Trust' star is replacing Brenton Thwaites, who is not be able to reprise the role scheduling conflict with his upcoming TV series 'Titans'.

AceShowbiz - "Trust" star Harris Dickinson has signed on to play the prince in "Maleficent 2". Elle Fanning will reprise her role as Aurora a.k.a. Sleeping Beauty, and Dickinson will serve as her love interest in the film, replacing Brenton Thwaites, who was forced to pull out of the sequel due to a scheduling conflict with his TV show "Titans".

Michelle Pfeiffer is also in negotiations to take on the role of the prince's mother, while Angelina Jolie will return as the titular character. Ed Skrein will also appear as one of the the villains in the film, which will be directed by "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" helmer Joachim Ronning.

It's unclear if the sequel will pick up where the original left off, as plot details are being kept under wraps, but Jez Butterworth and Linda Woolverton are writing the screenplay.

Production is slated to begin later this year, according to Variety.
