The hip-hop mogul recalls his addiction to the pill grew worse after he was released from hospital two years ago.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West became addicted to opioid pills after undergoing plastic surgery. The Yeezus rapper reveals he had liposuction performed in a bid to improve his looks and avoid the fate his brother-in-law Rob Kardashian endured when he was dubbed overweight by members of the media.

"I was addicted to opioids," West confessed to TMZ Live on Tuesday, May 01, while talking about his prescription pill habit. "I had plastic surgery because I was trying to look good for y'all."

"I got liposuction because I didn't want y'all to call me fat, like y'all called Rob at the wedding, and made him fly home before me and Kim got married. I didn't want y'all to call me fat, so I got liposuction, and they (plastic surgeons) gave me opioids, and I started taking two of them and driving to work on the opioids," he added.

Kanye was hospitalized for exhaustion in November 2016 after canceling the remaining dates of his "Saint Pablo Tour", and the star admits his addiction grew worse when he was released. "When I left the hospital, how many pills you think I was given? Seven. I went from taking two pills to taking seven," he recalled.

Kanye returned to Twitter after a social media hiatus last week and unleashed "tweet storms" of thoughts and announcements as he promoted his upcoming philosophy book. He made many fans and famous friends upset by offering up his support for President Donald Trump, prompting many to believe he was high. But he insists his latest Twitter tattle on the micro-blogging site wasn't prompted by opioid use.

"I'm not drugged out (now)," he said. "These pills, they (doctors) want me to take three of a day, I take one a week maybe, two a week."
